Can Blogging be Used to Expand the Skills and Knowledge of Learners

The age of web 2.0 has revolutionized teaching and learning, if nothing else, certainly by the availability of tools, materials, varieties of styles and games for learning and a multitude of sites that offer guidance. According to Agarwal (2025) A blog is a website where you can share your thoughts, ideas, and experiences with the world. You can also use a blog to promote your business, connect with like-minded people, and make money. With that idea in mind, we revisit our opening probe: can blogging be used to expand the skills and knowledge of learners?

Agarwal (2025) thinks so, as he continued: Blogging allows you to share your ideas and thoughts with the world. It will enable you to connect with other like-minded people and build a community of followers around your blog.

The focus of one’s blog is of essence, hence care will be taken to ensure that there is alignment with the subject of interest and the valued input of field experts to guide relevance and perspective. According to Educational Communication Technologies (2025). When students know their work will reach an audience beyond their teacher, something remarkable happens. They revise more carefully, think more deeply, and engage more authentically with their writing. Blogs transform classroom writing from a private exercise into a public conversation, offering educators a powerful tool to develop both literacy skills and digital citizenship. While the blog itself, being open to SMEs, is able to guide learning, being open to scrutiny also serves to ensure quality material is posted, thus developing a character of care and authenticity in the learner / presenter.
